The Wonky Artist

Women/Female-owned

The Wonky Artist, founded by self-taught wheelchair user and creative Rachel Smith‑Ruffle, is a vibrant art and homeware brand offering bold prints, bespoke commissioned artworks and cheerful home accessories inspired by nature, maps and everyday joy.

Rachel’s life-changing spinal injury did not stop her artistic journey — her limited hand function means she works by holding a brush with both hands, bringing a distinctive energy to every piece. The name “Wonky Artist” reflects the beautiful imperfection in her process and product.

More than selling art, The Wonky Artist shows how creativity can transform challenge into opportunity, offering a message of resilience, hope and the joy of self-expression.
